How our bodies respond to stressors, excesses, and deficiencies is therefore completely unique to each individual. This is where the brilliance of Chinese Medical diagnosis and treatment shines. No one is treated in the same way for a similar type of imbalance. The source of one person's dis-ease, concern or strain may be completely different, even though it may be named as the same "disease" in Western Medicine. When a state of imbalance arises and leads to dis-ease of the body, mind or spirit, it is returned to a state of equilibrium and health with Chinese Medicine by harnessing one's own innate vital energy (qi) by redirecting it and allowing for a freedom of its flow to bring one's entire interwoven system back to a state of harmony. Acupuncture and massage therapy aid the body by helping it get back on track or unstuck, in cases where an obstacle in the flow of qi has occurred. Melissa's Background Melissa Cadogan, Dipl.OM, L.Ac. is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist in the state of Colorado and is Nationally Board Certified in Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine and Herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She received her four year Masters in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, CA and has also studied in hospitals throughout Beijing, China. She has had the opportunity to work in many very rewarding environments such as the San Diego Children's Hospital's Pediatric Oncology and Pain Management Departments, the world reknown San Diego Hospice, at centers for seniors and Women's Health and Fertility Centers of La Jolla.
Melissa's Unique Treatment Style
Melissa’s background in physiology, sports medicine, holistic nutrition, yoga and meditation have all come together to create an all encompassing approach to Chinese Medicine and restoring health. Her training in the Japanese style of acupuncture, which is very subtle yet powerful, lends itself wonderfully to working with people that are sensitive to needles and energy in general. Melissa’s gentle and effective style of acupuncture is highly regarded among her patients. She has great success working with patients with lower back, neck and joint pain, fertility concerns and stress conditions that effective every part of one’s optimal functioning and health.
Melissa also offers therapeutic massage modalities which include Acupressure, Shiatsu, Tui Na, Circulatory Massage and Reiki. She loves working with her patients to meet their desired health goals by utilizing her attentive listening skills, her compassion, knowledge and healing touch.
